Day 2 : Pictures from Day 2 of our trip to Japan. Alex and Dad spent the day around the Ueno area exploring the park until it was time to take the train to Isesaki around 3pm. It rained overnight and until 9:30am. It was a very relaxing day and enjoyed the beautiful park. We arrived in Isesaki around 5:30 and went to a Ramen shop for a quick bite and an early bed. Alex fights tomorrow...stay tuned.

Days 3, 4 and 5 : Various pictures from Day 3, 4 and 5. I'll be posting the tournament photos in a separate gallery to keep things organized. Day 3 and 4 are tournament days. Day 5 was a field trip day for Rick. Isesaki-Kyoto-Isesaki - last minute change in plans needed me to check into my hotel in Kyoto and due to language/process barriers, I had to go in person or lose my reservation.

Day 8 - Kyoto - rainy day at Nijo and Gion District : Another day in photography paradise - the question is not what to shoot but what not to shoot. As you can see, I haven't had much luck staying away from the shutter button. Alex and I had a wet start to the day with heavy rain soaking Kyoto today. We went to visit Nijo Castle and its nightingale floor. The castle and grounds were beautiful. After Nijo we visited the Gion District just across the river and wandered around. I was wandering - Alex was on a mission - to photograph every Geisha in Kyoto. I think she missed one or two that were hiding in their attics. All in all a good day for the Katigbaks in Japan.

Day 13 - 14 - Ueno - Shibuya - Ebisu : Final pictures from an amazing trip with my daughter and friends from the West Island Karate Dojo. Some truly memorable moments that I will treasure for the rest of my life. A lot of laughing, a lot of eating and miles and miles of walking. Thanks again to all those who were able to share in this experience and to those at home who made this possible. Rick
